1. Our Commitment

At Egan's Ready to Drink Ltd, we are passionate about crafting quality ready-to-drink beverages and equally committed to promoting their responsible enjoyment. We believe that alcohol, when consumed responsibly and in moderation by adults, can be part of a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

This Responsible Drinking Policy sets out our approach to the marketing, sale, and promotion of our products, and provides guidance and resources to help consumers make informed choices about alcohol consumption.

2. Legal Drinking Age

It is illegal to sell or supply alcohol to persons under the age of 18 in Ireland. We strictly adhere to this law and expect our retailers, distributors, and customers to do the same.

Our Website, enjoyegans.ie, is intended solely for persons of legal drinking age in their country of residence. By entering the Website, users confirm that they are of legal drinking age. We may use age verification measures to restrict access where appropriate.

We do not market or sell our products to anyone under the age of 18, and we take all reasonable steps to ensure our products and communications are not directed at minors.

3. Responsible Marketing

We comply with the Public Health (Alcohol) Act 2018 and all other applicable Irish and EU laws governing the marketing and advertising of alcoholic beverages. In particular, we commit that our marketing will:

Not be directed at, or have particular appeal to, persons under the age of 18.

Not suggest that alcohol consumption contributes to social, sexual, sporting, or professional success.

Not associate alcohol consumption with driving vehicles or operating machinery.

Not encourage excessive, rapid, or irresponsible consumption.

Not present abstinence or moderation in a negative light.

Not make unsubstantiated health, therapeutic, or nutritional claims.

Always include appropriate responsible drinking messaging where required.

4. Know Your Limits

The Health Service Executive (HSE) in Ireland provides the following low-risk weekly alcohol guidelines for healthy adults:

Women: up to 11 standard drinks per week.

Men: up to 17 standard drinks per week.

These limits should be spread out over the week, with at least two to three alcohol-free days. Drinking more than six standard drinks in a single sitting is considered binge drinking and significantly increases health and safety risks.

One standard drink in Ireland contains 10 grams of pure alcohol. This is roughly equivalent to a half pint of lager, a small (100ml) glass of wine, or a pub measure (35.5ml) of spirits. Always check the label on our products to understand how many standard drinks each container holds.

5. When Not to Drink

There are times when it is safer not to drink alcohol at all. You should avoid alcohol if you are:

       Under the legal drinking age.

Pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Planning to drive, cycle, operate machinery, or engage in activities requiring full concentration or physical coordination.

Taking medication that may interact with alcohol — always check with your pharmacist or doctor.

Managing a medical condition that is affected by alcohol.

Recovering from alcohol dependence or in a treatment programme.

6. Drink-Driving

Never drink and drive. In Ireland, the legal blood alcohol limit is 50mg per 100ml of blood for most drivers, and 20mg per 100ml for learner, novice, and professional drivers. However, even small amounts of alcohol can impair judgement and reaction times.

If you plan to drink, plan ahead: arrange a designated driver, use public transport, book a taxi, or stay overnight. The safest choice is always zero alcohol before driving.

7. Tips for Drinking Responsibly

We encourage our customers to enjoy our products responsibly. Here are some practical tips:

Eat before and while drinking — food slows the absorption of alcohol.

Pace yourself and alternate alcoholic drinks with water or soft drinks.

Know the alcohol content of what you are drinking and keep track of how many standard drinks you have consumed.

Avoid rounds and drinking games that encourage rapid consumption.

Never leave your drink unattended or accept a drink from someone you do not know or trust.

Look out for friends and family, and don't let them drink and drive.

Take regular alcohol-free days to give your body time to recover.

8. Health Information and Support

Alcohol can have serious long-term and short-term effects on your physical and mental health. If you are concerned about your drinking, or the drinking of someone close to you, help is available.
